Report on Women’s Day Celebration (MRECW)

MRECW under MRGI banner celebrated Women’s Day with pomp and show on 10th March in the college captioning ‘Women Empowerment World’. Two eminent women officials from ACCENTURE, Bangalore graced the occasion. Dr. M. Madhavee Latha, HOD ECE Dept, JNTUH was the spokes person, Sri. Ch.Malla Reddy, Chairman MRGI, his wife Mrs.Kalapana Reddy were the Chief Guest. Dr. V.S.K.Reddy, Principal, MRCET was the person of focus on that day. Chairman of the MRGI Sri. Ch.Malla Reddy inaugurated the session by lighting the lamp along with all the dignitaries on the Dias. Later, Dr.Y.Madhavee Latha spoke about the status of the women in society and stressed the point that MRECW is preparing the girl students not only as industry ready Engineers but also as dignified citizens of this country.

Ch. Malla Reddy the Chairman, emphasized on values to be inculcated among women. He said that youth are ‘power-houses’ of energy and asked the young girls to utilize their energy and talents to win the world. “Today belongs to Women and tomorrow is also Women’s”- Indian Women have the courage to take up any challenge, he said.

Dr M.Madhaveelatha impressed the audience by speaking on leadership skills in Women. She advised girls to feel proud to be born in this rich cultural heritage to adopt some of the finest aspects of life. She enlightened the students by giving the details of the special privileges and incentives given by JNTU, AICTE and UGC exclusively for girl students and asked them to utilize those offers. 

The guests of Honor Ms Tazeen Erram and Ms Indumati Padmanabham spoke of empowering oneself by grabbing every opportunity available and to come-up the ladder of progress. Mrs Shalini and other dignitaries spoke about putting forth inbuilt efforts and inborn talents to succeed. The students participated resplendently in the events conducted on this occasion. The talents of students were tested drawn-out and recognized by organizing competitions such as short-film making on ‘empowering women’, Paper presentation on “Women-eminently personality”, ‘Young Women engineer’ with 5 different rounds, ‘Web design’ to have the technical expertise and poster presentation.

With a motto of “A sound body with a sound mind”- various sports and games events were held and prizes were given for winners. All the participants in all events were given certificates. The day ended with exemplary performance of Dances by students.
