Counselling and Monitoring Cell

Functions:

• To provide constant guidance and motivation to the students in academics as well as co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

• To counsel students to improve technical abilities, communication skills, language proficiency, interpersonal skills, presentation skills, organization skills, time management skills, and team spirit.

• To identify slow learners and give proper guidance for improvement.

• Recognize students exhibiting abnormal behavior and provide appropriate counseling to address their issues.

• To conduct dedicated counseling sessions for hostellers to address their unique concerns and needs.

Responsibilities of the Counseling and Mentoring Cell Committee:

• Establish a structured mentorship program to provide academic, personal, and career guidance.

• Assign mentors to students, ensuring an effective mentor-mentee ratio.

• Facilitate periodic mentor-mentee meetings to discuss academic progress, personal challenges, and career aspirations.

• Provide professional counselling services to students facing emotional, psychological, or social challenges.

• Guide students in identifying career goals and provide information on higher education opportunities and certifications.

• Organize awareness sessions and workshops on mental health, emotional intelligence, and coping strategies.

• Maintain detailed records of counselling sessions and mentorship activities while ensuring confidentiality.

• Submit periodic reports on the functioning of the cell to the college administration.

Frequency of Meeting: Twice in a Semester.
